Hi, and
welcome,
This
site is about your tunnelling, mine, the world and endless possibilities. It’s
a site that’s in development and may not reach its own rhythm for sometime.
It’s a whole new game to me. Nevertheless, If you have a sense of humour,
a sense of fun, a sense of justice and a sense of the absurd, while at the same
time not trusting your senses…then you may like to pop back from time to time.
Illustrations
from The Tunneller make up the
design of the site itself. It was a gamble admittedly, as the style is obviously
from comic book or graphic novel traditions. I wanted this to serve as a counterbalance
to the issues we will discuss here over time. It’s my hope that the style and
visual emphasis serves to “lighten the load” rather than to jettison objectivity
and escape from facts into fantasy. Humour is more important than ever during
these times. It is also true that while this is an opportunity to share my thoughts
on subjects that interest me, it in no way implies I have the answers. I clearly
don’t! It is an exploration, a way to try and understand and to make connections,
that is all. This is the spirit in which the website was conceived.
I refer
to “tunnelling” in two ways: 1) The burning desire to understand and to act
on that understanding. It is the effort to uncover the lies in ourselves and
in the external world with an open but objectively critical mind. It represents
the application of that knowledge which may then produce more tunnelling at
a higher level of awareness. 2) The theory of “Quantum Tunnelling” which implies infinite
possibilities or ways of BEing that connect very nicely to an ancient science of the soul and the
ability to escape from endless cycles of suffering that are the lessons and
“glue” of this 3-D world. An open mind, embracing uncertainty and endeavouring
to live in the Present, being three applications of this theory amongst a whole
diverse range of implications.

Human
suffering continues to plumb the depths of our imaginations getting replayed
again and again, ad infinitum.
I and
many others, are sick to the very core at
the way things are. And rather than slowly close myself up into a tight constricted
ball of depression or an imploding rage, I think a better way would be to align
ourselves with ways to usher in a new reality based on cooperation and sharing;
an unsentimental, powerful form of action based around networking solutions
to problems from the grassroots upwards, together with the ancient alchemical
science of working on the self as the necessary tools for awakening. How can
we help to create powerful new possibilities if we are asleep to ourselves and
caught in the apathy of our own despair?
Although
I have vacillated between the heights of stratospheric idealism and oppressive
cynicism I cannot except that there is no opportunity for lasting change whatever
the magnitude of the forces opposed to freedom of the mind though we may have to re-evaluate our motives
for change and how
we could achieve it. .Indeed, the concept of changing another to our
way of thinking however altruistic it may appear to be, will hold the clue to
why this world seems to be repeating the same lessons. And I’d like to make
it clear that I am not remotely interested in changing you the reader – but
I am interested in contributing to the breakdown of restrictions that prevent
us from making up our own minds and the ability to make an informed choice.
Humanity
has progressed very little in several thousand years. Materially and technologically?
Most definitely. Spiritually? World events would suggest not. If we take an
objective view of a largely biased “his”-story we can see that any notion of
a linear evolution is surely an illusion. The world operates exclusively on
lies that keep the wheels of “progress” oiled very nicely for a select few.
In turn, our perceptions are moulded from birth and chained to a specific world-view
that does not allow for peaceable constructive change. It does not allow for
true international cooperation and practical, creative measures to counter extreme
poverty, social and environmental exploitation and la-la-land economics based
on serving those few at the expense of the whole.
Indeed,
it seems to be the case that rampant consumerism in conjunction with a complete
vacuum of authenticity in favour of an essentially psychopathic societal foundation is rapidly
gaining momentum. True creativity and the merest glimpse of happiness is a pipe
dream for most. Survival is the day to day reality.
A simplification
of complex issues? Indeed it is, but the essential truth in the above is undeniable.
(Unless we are in favour of fluffing up our comfort zones and kissing teddy
good-night…).
Although
most of us have been put to sleep by an integration of a Huxlian and Orwellian
control system where technology set’s the pace for ever increasing ways to be
“amused to death,” it CAN be made to work as a symbol of reality bridging, based
on a choice for positive change for those who seek it. The potential for networking
these visions and ideals IS here.
There
is no doubt in my mind that we are living through a period of history that presents
a golden opportunity. Those of us who are in the privileged position of having
some semblance of autonomy have the choice, if the will is strong enough, to
use every last ounce of our being to network for solutions and for lasting change,
for another reality to emerge and to escape from the interminable tread-mill
of repeating patterns and “forced choices.” The transformation that may be possible
could manifest in ways that have everything to do with the concepts of quantum
tunnelling and the extraordinary fluidity of our reality and very little to
do with how much GDP is spent per annum, or what policies may be ushered in
with the next presidency. Yet it still depends on activating the will to DO
and igniting the fires of creativity in all its forms through the auspices of
ordinary folks like you and me. Although this process can be extraordinarily
challenging for the individual, collectively there is no limitation to what
can be achieved.
Human
beings are shackled by forces that set to dampen down the spirit from birth.
We can make the choice to resist and defend ourselves against these forces,
by building our knowledge base, resisting the flow of “poor data” and raising
our awareness and uncovering the shadows and faulty programs that exist within our own systems,
thus being better placed to see it reflected in the external world. Gradually,
we will be in a stronger position from which to discern lies from truth and
to build on a purity of thought and action that can stem from a network of “co-linear”
minds. Simple? No. It is excruciatingly difficult, but the more of us who are
prepared to make that choice, the more a possibility for a qualitative transition
may by brought before us.
We can
all do something large or small, whether it is writing articles, contacting
the website addresses given here, forming discussion groups, joining organizations
that have networking, cooperation and truth-seeking as their central focus,
initiating projects that can be utilized within these burgeoning networks, or
whatever you think you can do to foster this network so that it begins to be
“electrified” or its amplitude of awareness increased enough
so that a quantum “leap” can be achieved. If the core desire is there, perhaps
it becomes a sacred duty to attract this possibility into a probability; an
opportunity to re-enchant Truth.
Let’s
adjust our helmets, make sure we have a fresh lamp, and start tunnelling. And
in the best possible sense, I’ll meet you ‘round the bend!
